Cares for every deceased person in Everlasting's custody at the Bayswater mortuary, from admission through identification, refrigeration, cleansing, embalming, dressing and encoffining to release. Owns infection control, chemical safety and the mortuary care register.
What the team is accountable for
- Admit, identify and tag every deceased person on arrival
- Determine and deliver the care each case requires
- Perform arterial embalming and restorative work
- Dress, apply cosmetics and encoffin for viewing and service
- Clean and sterilise mortuary equipment and manage chemicals

A qualified embalmer of eleven years who runs the Bayswater mortuary, supervises trainee embalmers and owns the infection control program.

Admits and identifies deceased persons, assists with dressing and encoffining, and manages cool room and equipment cleaning logs in her second year.

Logs every injury, exposure, near miss, hazard, vehicle event and identification discrepancy with its investigation and corrective actions.
Fleet and Equipment Register
Tracks the hearses, transfer vehicles, mourning cars, mortuary equipment, grounds plant and cremators, their inspections and service status.
